Ron Ward Biography

Ron was born and raised in Toronto and attended
the commercial art program at Danforth Technical Institute.
He began his artistic career as an illustrator and designer
of custom carpets for an elite Toronto firm.

In 1975 Ron settled in the Kawarthas and started his own commercial art business
which included custom hand painted signage, logo design and posters
for a list of high profile clients.

An example of some of his commission work include
Peterborough's The Wolf Radio station logo and the poster for
Algonquin Park's 100th Anniversary Celebration.
His artwork is also featured on murals, various retail products and colouring books
that are available through The Friends of Algonquin Park.

While enjoying success as a commercial artist, Ron has always retained his interest in fine art.
His work includes paintings in watercolours, acrylics, and oils and sculpture in various mediums.
His art is greatly influenced by his love of canoeing and camping and is frequently his subject matter.

Ron has successfully displayed & sold his paintings and sculptures at many art shows thru-out eastern Ontario since 1986 and now his work resides in various private and corporate collections.
